Committed to the environment:

The Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation

Since 1996, the Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation has been supporting academic research in the field of environmental technology with an annual subsidy amount of well over one million euros. The foundation also awards prizes for outstanding student papers, dissertations and doctoral theses in the field of environmental technology and environmental protection at the University of Stuttgart, Dresden TU and the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT).

In total, the Foundation awarded more than 40 scholarships to doctoral students from the three partner universities in 2022.

In July 2012, the first interdisciplinary "Boysen / Dresden TU postgraduate research group for sustainable energy systems" was officially launched at Dresden Technical University. The research group provides the basis for collaborative work between roughly 20 doctoral candidates from different disciplines. The concept is currently in its third funding period, which focuses on "Mobility in Transition". The fourth postgraduate research group will start in 2023 under the title "Hydrogen Economy – Strategic Element of a Future Green Gas Deal".
